RELATED: Genetic Genocide: Humanity’s Greatest Threat

Biotech and other emerging technology is jeopardizing the future of the human race.

In its latest effort, Fidelity Investments is aiming to drive billions of dollars of global finance capital into the emerging field of “synthetic biology”, using promotions and social media (as in its “Follow the Green Line” ad campaign) to raise interest. Fidelity is also trying to take on water shortage issues, “personalized medicine” and has partnered with the TED Talks (along with dozens of other firms) that have become a self-proclaimed authority on where technology is going. For Fidelity, it is part of an effort to bolster the firm’s image as responsible and innovative. But is it?

Just as big money has backed carbon credit schemes and green technology, Fidelity is making a push to back ‘synthetic biology,’ which it says could be the “defining technology of the 21st Century,” though admittedly it is still in the ‘experimental phase’. In essence, synthetic biology is just another buzz term for what has already become the very controversial and dangerous field of biotech & genetic engineering.

For example, scientists have shown that genetically-engineered salmon– hailed below in Fidelity’s promo video as a milestone in innovation– could wipe out the less aggressive natural salmon population within 40 generations. Fidelity also touts the use of GM bacteria to produce new malaria vaccines– part of the larger emerging field of “pharming,” or growing pharmaceutical products inside genetically-modified crops, animals, and microorganisms. For all its potential promises, GMOs have instead been linked with organ failure, infertility and reproductive problems, as well as widespread environmental impact.

Ignoring all these known risks, Fidelity’s ThinkBig webpage brags about their part in the attempt to redesign life with man-made architecture, claiming that labs could soon create 50 times the number of naturally-occurring species known to exist on the planet. And clearly that means big cash. GMO foods have been the first bounty of this technology, but the other applications are widespread, including energy, computing, organ replacements and much more. Fidelity boasts in part:

Synthetic Biologists collaborate around the world, using over 5,000 DNA sequences, called BioBricks™, now available online in an open-source database. Crowdsourcing the work means experiments that used to take years now take weeks, constantly redefining what’s possible.

Encouraging a race to create artificial life forms means less time in thinking out the potential consequences. The risks could well include endangering the survival of natural life (including humans), and would likely also prove costly for populations already vulnerable to market schemes.

Cross-species, xenotransplantation, human-animal hybrids and chimera creations all pose threats to DNA and organ receptors in ways scientists are only beginning to fully understand, while mixed genes open up new dangers of disease vulnerability between species previously not affected. This Brave New World of engineered creations, clearly, could pose instead a genetic armageddon. Alex Jones has repeatedly warned about the Trojan Horse bioweapon capabilities of much of this technology, as well as other widely used chemical compounds found throughout our food, water and environment.

Genetic Armageddon: Humanity’s Greatest Threat

Does this amount to “hacking biology” or what Alex Jones has often termed genetic vandalism? Thomas H. Murray, President of The Hastings Center gives a lecture discussing the ethical issues of creating new forms of life under the synthetic biology umbrella. This has been going on since the first recombinant DNA research began in the early 1970s, he indicates at some 13:40 minutes into the presentation. At least Murray considers the consequences, but in reality, the research field is moving forward with little concern for caution.

Apart from the risks to life itself, what finance capitol is funding is a new era of lucrative patent dominance in the realm of biology that will likely only embolden the existing oligopolies in Big Agra and Big Pharma, all while making the costs of staying alive greater to bear. “Intellectual property” issues are already plaguing traditional farmers in many parts of the world, as they clash with Monsanto’s seed monopoly. But this will also manifest in the future markets of human replacement organs grown in pigs, gene therapy, IVF and other assisted fertility, as well as many other areas. Already, claims of copyrighted human genes is occurring and impacting health care costs. Spider goats and human breast milk produced by cows are just some of the most widely publicized forms of this emerging technology front where natural sources are displaced by patented, costly and potentially dangerous GMO alternatives.

Meanwhile, the Transhumanist movement, today lead by iconic futurist Ray Kurzweil, is openly trying to re-engineer and replace the human species by merging individuals with technology– A.I., avatars, nano-tech, cloud-computing based memory banks and much more. Alex Jones’ Endgame breaks down much of this agenda.

The same science cultists who previously thought 96% of human DNA was “junk” are now playing god, assuming they can wield new life forms for human betterment. From it, the potential for financial & environmental harm, as well as predatory occupation from monopoly/oligopoly sectors is immense.

(NaturalNews) A new study published in the journal Archives of Toxicology proves once again that there really is no safe level of exposure to Monsanto’s Roundup (glyphosate) herbicide formula for genetically-modified organisms (GMOs). According to the new findings, Roundup, which is applied by the tens of thousands of tons a year all around the world, is still toxic to human DNA even when diluted to a mere 0.02 percent of the dilution amount at which it is currently applied to GM food crops.

Numerous studies have already identified the fact that Roundup causes DNA damage, not to mention endocrine disruption and cancer. But this new study, which originates out of the Medical University of Vienna, is one of the first to illustrate Roundup’s toxicity at such drastically diluted levels, which is a direct contradiction of the agri-giant’s talking points about the supposed safety of Roundup.

“Comparisons with results of earlier studies with lymphocytes and cells from internal organs indicate that epithelial cells are more susceptible to the cytotoxic effects and DNA-damaging properties of the herbicide and its formulation,” wrote the authors in their abstract.

“Since we found genotoxic (DNA damaging) effects after short exposure to concentrations that correspond to a 450-fold dilution of spraying used in agriculture, our findings indicate that inhalation may cause DNA damage in exposed individuals.”

Interestingly, it is not so much just the glyphosate ingredient in Roundup that is extremely poisonous, as much as it is this chemical’s amplified toxicity in the presence of other additives in the formula. Polyoxyethyleneamine, for instance, a surfactant that facilitates glyphosate’s absorption into cells, has been found to significantly increase Roundup’s synergistic toxicity in humans.

Despite Monsanto’s claims to the contrary, Roundup is clearly an exceptionally toxic chemical that has no legitimate place in agriculture. According to data compiled by GreenMedInfo.com, Roundup is linked to causing Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, imbalanced hormones in children, DNA damage, low testosterone, endocrine disruption, liver cancer, meningitis, infertility, skin cancer, kidney damage, and even uranium poisoning (http://www.greenmedinfo.com/toxic-ingredient/glyphosate).

Environmentally, Roundup is a pervasive threat to air, water, and particularly groundwater and drinking supplies, as studies have shown that it does not effectively biodegrade after being sprayed. Back in the fall, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) released data showing that air and water all across America’s “bread belt,” where much of our nation’s food is grown, is highly contaminated with glyphosate (http://www.naturalnews.com/033699_Roundup_pollution.html).

(NaturalNews) The one man who may be responsible for more food related illnesses and deaths than anyone in history, Michael R. Taylor, has just been promoted from US Food Safety Czar to Senior Advisor to the Commissioner of the FDA, a position which would enable the giant biotech company Monsanto to silently and legally feed cancer causing vegetables to every living person who is not 100% strictly organic.

President Obama has appointed the former Monsanto Vice President and lobbyist Michael R. Taylor to the throne. This is the same man who was Food Safety Czar for the FDA when Genetically Modified Organisms were allowed into the US food supply without undergoing a single test to determine their safety or risks. This is like putting a terrorist in charge of the world’s food supply. What will the cancer numbers look like in 2016? (http://www.counterpunch.org)

The GMO nightmare all started with the Dan Quayle led FDA/GMO marriage. Under George Bush Senior’s Administration from 1989 to 1993, Dan Quayle single-handedly catapulted GMO’s into existence through FDA’s anti-consumer right-to-know policy, which stated that GMO foods did not have to be labeled or safety tested. Yes, you read that correctly: There is no safety testing required whatsoever to take some Agent Orange pesticide and genetically mutate the seeds of vegetables in a chemical laboratory so that nothing on planet earth will eat the plant that grows from the ground except for all the humans who have no idea what happened.

Michael Taylor is part of a revolving door at the FDA, where Monsanto Execs just come and go as they please. First, Michael R. Taylor was an assistant to the FDA commissioner. Then he left to work for a law firm in the 1980’s to help gain FDA approval of Monsanto’s artificial growth hormone (rGBH), which is directly linked to cancer. Then he became deputy commissioner of the FDA in 1991, and was later re-appointed to the FDA in 2009 by Obama. He is the food villain who tried his best to keep this “malignant milk of the turn of the century” from being labeled.

Michael Taylor is the epitome of everything Monsanto represents. Taylor is like a vehicle for Monsanto’s patenting of seeds and global domination of farming. He implements the government’s “favorable” agricultural biotech policies because it’s much more of a financially sure shot to use RoundUp in food than to farm organically and ethically. If the investments aren’t paying enough at the corporation, Execs just switch over to Federal Regulations and write some new Legislation based on “tainted research”, which allows them to pile more toxins on the American public and bankroll off it when they flip back to the corporate side.

The 4-headed Administration of thieves
This marks the pinnacle so far of a long ascent of evil profiteering and corporate executives making it to the top. It’s like one big 4-headed company of thieves: The FDA, EPA, Supreme Court, and Monsanto’s Board of Executives, and these organization hoppers include Clarence Thomas, Michael R. Taylor, Ann Veneman, and Linda Fisher, who conveniently bounce back and forth between positions at Monsanto and the EPA.

Here are just a few examples in case you didn’t know: Prior to being the Supreme Court Judge who put G.W. Bush in office, Clarence Thomas was Monsanto’s lawyer. The U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Anne Veneman, was on the Board of Directors of Monsanto’s Calgene Corporation. The U.S. Secretary of Health, Tommy Thompson, received $50,000 in donations from Monsanto during his winning campaign for Wisconsin’s governor. The two congressmen receiving the most donations from Monsanto during the last election were Larry Combest, Chairman of the House Agricultural Committee, and Attorney General John Ashcroft. The prior Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, was on the Board of Directors of Monsanto’s Searle Pharmaceuticals.

Monsanto has the money to win in court and/or settle with anyone who opposes them. Monsanto has been sued and has settled multiple times for damaging the health of its employees and residents near its Superfund sites through pollution and poisoning. A report released in June 2011 linked glyphosate (RoundUp) to birth defects in frog and chicken embryos at dilutions much lower than those used in typical agricultural spraying (including home gardens). (http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_22625.cfm)

Silent Anti-Nutritional Terrorism
FDA scientists once contended that genetic modification of the food supply is the “single most radical and potentially dangerous threat to public health.” In addition to producing GMO foods, Monsanto pushes dozens of other toxic products such as aspartame, bovine growth hormone, Agent Orange, Dioxin, DDT, and Roundup – all of which cause birth defects and deformities.

Constitutional checks and balances are gone for the most part in the United States, especially when it comes to writing ethical policies regarding the environment, food, medicine and drinking water. The FDA and Corporations should not bleed over into one another, and the whole concept of lobbying is just a glorified form of “legal bribery.”

Monsanto conveniently tramples on antitrust violations, which the Justice Department has supposedly been investigating for years. The Supreme Court of France found Monsanto guilty of falsely advertising Roundup as “biodegradable” and “environmentally friendly.” The New York State Attorney General sued Monsanto and won in 1997 for claiming RoundUp was, “safer than table salt and “practically non-toxic” to mammals, birds, and fish. More than enough scientific research reveals glyphosate, the active ingredient in RoundUp, is “acutely toxic to fish and birds and can kill beneficial insects and soil organisms that maintain ecological balance.”

On two other occasions, the EPA has caught scientists deliberately falsifying test results at research laboratories hired by Monsanto to study glyphosate.

This is not just another case of a ruthless tyrant trying to become the CEO of some big company, this could be end of organic food as we know it. If Taylor takes the position of Head of the FDA, have no doubts that keeping your own seeds to any eatable plant will soon be illegal. This will endanger all of humanity by “putting all of our eggs in one basket,” because GMO seeds die after one year of growth; therefore, if a Nuclear bomb wipes out their facilities and seed storages, we would have zero growth of food from that point on. That’s mass genocide. Plus, illnesses from GMO foods include changes in major organs, hormonal, immune, digestive, and reproductive systems.

Does FDA stand for “Food as Drugs for America?
“Monsanto and GMO toxic bioengineering dominates the production of food through the DNA manipulation and mutation of seeds, and the unethical growing and breeding of animals, fish, and crops in the USA right now at 80% or higher: Cows, chickens, pigs, turkeys, “farm raised fish” (which means they’re all juiced up with hormones and antibiotics in an overcrowded lake), milk, corn, soybeans, alfalfa (as chem-feed for cows), canola, tobacco and cotton (to infect the skin since the skin is your largest organ). GMO should be called GDDO – “genetically diseased and dying” organisms. (http://www.seedsofdeception.com)

What will America and the rest of the world be like when food is 95 – 98% GMO? It’s not that far away if Taylor solidifies his FDA position. How high will that drive the price of organic food? This is more powerful than bombs. This is population control. Pfizer, the world’s largest pharmaceutical company now basically owns Monsanto … another big surprise, right? Combine that with FDA control over legislation and talk about the “evil tri-fecta!”

Consumers are winning some battles, however. In the wake of mass consumer pressure, major retailers such as Safeway, Publix, Wal-Mart, and Kroger and even Starbucks banned products containing Monsanto’s rBGH milk. Vegetarians and vegans are on an accelerated upward population trend. The ratios have changed drastically since the anti-GMO movement began to snowball in the early 2000’s, but this corporate co-op by the powers that be in Washington D.C. is a most dispiccable example of foxes guarding the chickens.

Help prevent the food Czar from becoming FDA’s Senior Advisor. This petition already has over 60,000 signatures. We need 75,000 signatures. Sign the petition now. It’s not too late to prevent this latest atrocity to the future of food!

(NaturalNews) In order to maintain its massive charade of deception in claiming that genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) are the safe, practical solution to the world’s food problems, the biotechnology industry has had to silence and destroy the lives of many in the scientific community. In the hard-hitting new documentary Scientists Under Attack – Genetic Engineering in the Magnetic Field of Money, German filmmaker Bertram Verhaag explores the heavy hand of the biotechnology industry in steering “science” towards its own interests, and eliminating the actual, legitimate science that exposes genetic engineering (GE) as the fraud that it is.

In the film, Verhaag speaks to various experts in the industry, including two scientists in particular whose lives have been ruined as a result of their inquiry into GE. Going against the flow, Arpad Pusztai and Ignacio Chapela questioned the “science” being peddled by the likes of Monsanto about GE, and instead sought to discover the real truth. In the process, they both ended up being threatened by the biotechnology industry and essentially losing their careers.

“The attack on scientists is very well-structured by the biotech industry,” says one scientist in the film. “It’s systematic. It’s worldwide. It’s very coordinated. It’s part of the way they do business.”

According to the scientists interviewed, roughly 95 percent of the published research involving GMOs has been conducted and paid for by the biotechnology industry. This means that only five percent of the available research on the subject has been conducted by independent research firms that are much more likely to have an honest, unbiased approach.

“No one gets up in the morning saying, ‘I wanna go buy a genetically-engineered food.’ They offer no benefits, no more nutrition, no more flavor, no nothing — they only offer risks,” says another expert. “They (biotechnology companies) did not want people to have that knowledge, and [did] not want them to have that choice. So this isn’t just a story about science. This is a story about knowledge, democracy, and freedom of choice.”

(NaturalNews) Ohio farmers are more reluctant to plant genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in their fields than their counterparts in other Midwestern states, planting nearly 30 percent of their fields with non-modified corn. In contrast, less than 20 percent of corn acreage in Indiana, Illinois and Iowa is planted with non-transgenic seed.

“This year in our Ohio Corn Performance Trials, we tested nearly 40 non-transgenic hybrids, which is the most we’ve tested in several years,” said Peter Thomison of Ohio State University Extension and the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center. “Many non-transgenic hybrids are still competing effectively with transgenic hybrids.”

Thomison attributes this trend primarily to economic factors, including less need for pesticides in Ohio than in neighboring states.

“Most of these growers are looking at non-GMO from an economic standpoint. It’s less costly to buy non-GMO seed,” he said. “In addition, we don’t have as much of a problem with insect pests, like the first-year rootworm variant, as states further west do. Growers also like … to take advantage of [better prices] for non-GMO grain.”

Growers across Ohio deliberately plant non-GMO seed for organic products or for other products explicitly certified as GMO-free. For example, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s only use explicitly non-GMO products for their in-store brands. Because so many Ohio growers depend upon certified non-GMO seed for their livelihood, concern is growing in the state about genetic contamination.

If pollen from GMO plants fertilizes non-GMO plants, the resulting crop will contain modified genes and may be rejected by GMO-free certifiers.

As Jeffrey M. Smith explains in his book “Seeds of Deception,” “Some foods with soy or corn products are labeled ‘Non-GMO’ because the crops were grown from non-GM seed. But non-GMO seeds and crops can be contaminated. Therefore, each manufacturer decides how much vigilance is used to support that claim.

“Some companies rely only on affidavits by farmers. Others test their products. One common test is an on-site ‘strip test.’ Like a home pregnancy test, a strip is dipped into a test tube containing a special solution mixed with the powdered crop. It will change color if there are GMOs present.”

Arpad Pusztai and Ignacio Chapela have two things in common. They are distinguished scientists and their careers are in ruins. Both scientists choose to look at the phenomenon of genetic engineering. Both made important discoveries. Both of them are suffering the fate of those who criticize the powerful vested interests that now dominate big business and scientific research.

Statements made by scientists themselves prove that 95% of the research in the area of genetic engineering is paid by the industry. Only 5% of the research is independent. The big danger for freedom of science and our democracy is evident. Can the public — we all — still trust our scientists?

(NaturalNews) On January 27, 2011, the Obama Administration caved to Monsanto and decided to fully deregulate its genetically-modified (GM) alfalfa, a horrendous move that threatens to destroy not only the entire organic industry, but also the integrity of the whole of agriculture. And according to reports, the Obama White House pressured U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) chief Tom Vilsack to approve it based on its own political agenda, rather than on evidence proving its safety, none of which actually exists.

When Monsanto first convinced the USDA back in 2007 to approve GM alfalfa without having to provide a shred of evidence that it was safe, lawsuits immediately emerged against the agency for its flagrant violation of the law. A federal district judge agreed, ruling that GM alfalfa could not legally be planted until the USDA completed a proper environmental impact statement (EIS) (http://www.naturalnews.com/029407_G…).

After months of alleged review, the USDA issued its final EIS on December 20, 2010, showing that the GM alfalfa actually poses a significant threat to both organic and conventional agriculture, and that it has the potential to cause widespread contamination through cross-pollination. But in spite of all this, the agency said that continuing to regulate the “frankencrop” was not an option (http://www.naturalnews.com/031139_G…).

In reality, GM alfala is completely unnecessary, and it only benefits Monsanto. There is absolutely no evidence proving its safety, and all study into the matter shows that planting the crop is a recipe for worldwide disaster.

“Ninety-three percent of alfalfa hay is grown without any herbicide at all,” said Michael Pollan, author and food systems advocate, concerning the absolute pointlessness of introducing GM alfalfa in the first place. He went on to say in a report that GM alfalfa “is a bad solution to a problem that doesn’t exist.”

But Vilsack decided to cave to pressures from both the White House and the biotechnology industry anyway, reversing his previous stated position that GM alfalfa poses “a significant concern for farmers who produce for non-GE (genetically-engineered) markets at home and abroad.” Some sources say he was coerced by Obama insiders to concede to Monsanto’s demands against his better judgment (http://www.grist.org/article/2011-0…).

The Cornucopia Institute (CI), an organic advocate organization, has created a detailed fact sheet explaining the environmental and agricultural threats posed by the introduction of GM alfalfa. You can view that sheet here:

CI is also urging citizens to call the White House and demand that the White House’s irresponsible and unjust decision be reversed. You can view CI’s contact page here:

(NaturalNews) A federal lawsuit filed by several conservation and food safety groups has led to a ban on any further plantings of genetically-modified organisms (GMO) in all U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) refuges in 12 Northeastern states. And more lawsuits are reportedly on the way to have GMO plantings cease in as many as 75 other wildlife refuges across the country as well.

Filed by the Widener Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic on behalf of the Delaware Audubon Society, Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) and the Center for Food Safety (CFS), the lawsuit brought to light the fact that the FWS has been illegally permitting private parties to plant GMOs on public land, without a proper environmental review. The FWS settled the suit, agreeing to stop further plantings unless and until an appropriate National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis confirms their safety.

“For Delawareans, this is a victory for the protection of vital public resources in our state,” explained Mark Martell, President of the Delaware Audubon Society. “Our aim was to end illegal and destructive agriculture on the Delaware refuges but we are delighted to have this victory extended to other refuges along the Great Eastern Flyway.”

The same groups in 2009 tried to petition Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, an appointee of the Obama Administration, to issue a moratorium on GMO plantings in all National Wildlife Refuges. But Salazar never even responded to their letter. The groups did, however, stop GMO plantings in Delaware’s Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge that same year.

“GE (genetically-engineered) crops have no place in National Wildlife Refuges,” said Paige Tomaselli, Staff Attorney with the CFS. “These pesticide-resistant crops pose significant risks to the very wildlife those refuges serve to protect, including massively increasing pesticide use and creating [sic] of pesticide-resistant superweeds. This Northeast region-wide ban is an important step in the right direction, but the Fish & Wildlife Service must stop planting these crops in other regions as well.”
