Have certain parts of the Constitution become irrelevant, as a former Republican leader once told me at a Foreign Affairs Committee hearing? At the time, I was told that demanding a Congressional declaration of war before invading Iraq, as Article I Section 8 of the Constitution requires, was unnecessary and anachronistic. Congress and the president then proceeded without a Constitutional declaration and the disastrous Iraq invasion was the result.

Last week, Obama administration officials made it clear that even the fig leaf of Congressional participation provided by the 2003 “authorization” to use force in Iraq was to be ignored as well.  In a hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta stated clearly and repeatedly that the administration felt it was legally justified to use military force against Syria solely with “international permission”. Such “international permission” could come by way of the United Nations, NATO, or some other international body. Secretary Panetta then told Senator Sessions that depending on the situation, the administration would consider informing Congress of its decision and might even seek authorization after the fact.

While Senator Sessions expressed surprise at the casual audacity of Panetta in making this statement, in reality his was just a bluntly stated explanation of what has been, de facto, the case for many years. When President Obama committed the US military to a pre-emptive war against Libya last year, for example, Congress was kept completely out of the process. Likewise, military action in Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, and so on, proceed without a Congressional declaration. In fact, we haven’t had a proper, constitutional declaration of war since 1942, yet the US military has been engaged in Korea, Lebanon, Iraq, Bosnia, Liberia, Haiti, and Libya with only UN resolutions as the authority. Congress’s only role has been authorizing funds, which it always does without question, because one must “support the troops”.

Of course we should reserve our harshest criticism for Congress rather than the Administration. If the people’s branch of government abrogates its Constitutional authority to the Executive branch, who is to blame? Who is to blame that Congress as a body will not stand up and demand that the president treat the Constitution as more than an anachronistic piece of paper, or merely a set of aspirations and guidelines? The Constitution is the law of the land and for Congress to allow it to be flouted speaks as badly about Congress as it does about a president who seeks to do the flouting.

Just last week the administration announced that it would begin providing material support to the rebels who seek to overthrow the Syrian government. Was Congress involved in this decision to take sides in what may develop into a full-fledged civil war? And what of reports that US special forces may already be operating inside Syria? Still, Congress sits silently as its authority is undermined. Does anybody really wonder why approval numbers for Congress are so low?

Many of my colleagues who stood by as then-President Bush used the military as a kind of king’s army are now calling for Congress to act against this president for openly admitting that is his intent. I agree it is time for Congressional action in response to these attacks on our Constitution, but the solution is simple and Constitutional. The solution is simply voting to withhold funds, since Congress has the power of the purse. No money for undeclared wars!

The Economic Collapse
March 9, 2012

Not so fast.  Those that are publicly declaring that an economic recovery has arrived are ignoring a whole host of numbers that indicate that the U.S. economy is in absolutely horrendous shape.  The truth is that the health of an economy should not be measured by how well the stock market is doing.  Rather, the truth health of an economy should be evaluated by looking at numbers for things like jobs, housing, poverty and debt.  Some of the latest economic statistics indicate that unemployment is getting a little bit worse, that the housing market continues to deteriorate, that poverty in America continues to soar and that our debt problem is worse than ever.  If we were truly experiencing the kind of economic recovery that the United States has experienced after every other post-World War II recession we would see a sharp improvement across the board in most of our economic statistics.  But that simply is not happening.  Sadly, this is about as much of an “economic recovery” as we are going to get because soon the economy will be getting much worse.  So enjoy this period of relative stability while you can.

The Obama administration would have us believe that unemployment in the United States has declined, but the truth is that the percentage of working age Americans that are employed has stayed very, very flat for more than two years and now there are some measures of unemployment that are actually getting worse.

For example, according to Gallup the unemployment rate in the United States has risen from 8.5% in December to 8.6% in January to 9.1% in February.  The Obama administration would have us believe that it is actually going the other direction.

Initial unemployment claims are rising again.  For the week ending March 3rd, they increased by 8,000 over the previous week to 362,000.  This is not the kind of good news that people were hoping for.

What the U.S. economy could really use are millions of good jobs.  But those are being shipped out of the country at a staggering pace.

Right now there are millions of Americans in their prime working years that are sitting at home wondering what to do with their lives.  The average duration of unemployment in the United States continues to hover near a record high, and if we were truly experiencing an economic recovery it should have been falling by now.

But a lot of Americans have bought into the propaganda about an economic recovery and they are out running up huge amounts of debt once again.  In January, consumer credit increased by much more than expected.  The following is from a recent Reuters report….

Nonrevolving credit, which includes auto loans as well as student loans made by the government, rose $20.723 billion during the month. That was the biggest increase in dollar terms since November 2001, when credit was surging in the wake of the September 11 attacks in New York and Washington.

Don’t fall into the trap of debt slavery.  During the last recession millions of Americans lost their homes and most of what they owned because they got overextended.

Don’t do it.

The U.S. housing market continues to deeply struggle as well.  If we were really in an economic recovery housing would be bouncing back.  But that is not happening.  Just consider the following facts….

*The number of new homes sold in the United States continues to hover near a record low.

*U.S. home prices in the 4th quarter of 2011 were four percent lower than they were during the 4th quarter of 2010.

*According to CoreLogic, 22.8 percent of all homes with a mortgage in the United States were in negative equity as of the end of the 4th quarter of 2011.  That was an increase from 22.1 percent in the third quarter.

Why are things still getting worse for the U.S housing market?

That is a really good question.

We should have seen some improvement by now.

But it isn’t happening.

Also, poverty in America continues to explode.

For example, the number of Americans on food stamps has increased to 46.5 million – a brand new all-time record.

If we really were in an economic recovery, wouldn’t that number be going down?

We should be thankful that the U.S. economy is not declining as rapidly as it was during 2008 and 2009.  But what we are experiencing right now is not an economic recovery.  It is simply just a bubble of false hope.

The big problem is that our nation is covered in an ocean of constantly expanding debt.

U.S. consumers are drowning in debt, U.S. businesses have pushed debt levels to the red line, and the U.S. financial system is massively overleveraged.

Of course government debt is our biggest debt problem of all.

All over the nation, state and local governments are on the verge of financial ruin.

If we were in the middle of an economic recovery, so many states would not be in crisis mode.  A recent article in the Los Angeles Times declared that “California could run out of cash in March“.  As the economy continues to crumble we are going to hear a lot more of this kind of thing.

A lot of local governments around the nation are on the verge of total financial collapse.  Stockton, California has announced that they will be defaulting on some debt payments, and Suffolk County in New York recently declared a fiscal emergency after discovering that it would rack up more than 500 million dollars of debt between 2011 and 2013.

Keep your eyes open for more news items like this in the months ahead.

Of course the biggest problem of all is the U.S. national debt and it continues to rapidly get worse.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, the U.S. government had a budget deficit of 229 billion dollars in the month of February.  That is the worst one month budget deficit in the history of the United States.

The Congressional Budget Office also says that the U.S. government is now borrowing 42 cents of every single dollar that it spends.

The U.S. national debt has gotten more than 59 times larger since 1950.

The U.S. national debt is now more than 22 times larger than it was when Jimmy Carter became president.

Are there any words in the English language that are strong enough to describe how foolish we have been?

Of course we won’t be able to accumulate so much debt indefinitely.  At some point the trillion dollar deficits will stop and our false prosperity will disappear.

If you want to get an idea of what happens then, just take a look at Greece.

But Barack Obama and most members of the U.S. Congress don’t really care about what they are doing to our future.

What they care about is winning the next election so that they can continue living their fabulous lives.

Barack Obama is supposed to be taking care of the American people, but instead he has been very busy taking care of the people who helped him get elected.  Politics in America is all about money.  Just check out the following very short excerpt from a recent article in the Washington Post….

More than half of Obama’s 47 biggest fundraisers, those who collected at least $500,000 for his campaign, have been given administration jobs. Nine more have been appointed to presidential boards and committees.

At least 24 Obama bundlers were given posts as foreign ambassadors, including in Finland, Australia, Portugal and Luxembourg. Among them is Don Beyer, a former Virginia lieutenant governor who serves as ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Washington D.C. is deeply corrupt and if you are waiting for our politicians to fix our problems you are going to be deeply disappointed.

The federal government is not going to save you.

Our politicians are not going to save you.

You better figure out how you are going to take care of yourself and your family in the years ahead because this is about as good as things are going to get.

This “economic recovery” is about to end and more pain is about to begin.

Obama administration firms up support for state-sponsored assassination

Paul Joseph Watson
Monday, March 5, 2012

Attorney General Eric Holder will today attempt to justify the Obama administration’s policy of state-sponsored assassination, as he prepares to give a speech explaining how the U.S. government can arbitrarily kill U.S. citizens on foreign soil.

“Holder plans to say in a major speech on Monday at Northwestern University law school in Chicago that lethal force is legal under a Sept. 18, 2001, joint congressional resolution,” reports the Associated Press.

The notion that the White House can target Americans for summary execution by merely claiming that they are associated with terrorism is chilling given the fact that Americans who engage in political activism or even banal behaviors have been characterized as potential terrorists by U.S. authorities.

The White House has asserted the right to carry out state-sponsored assassination anywhere in the world without having to provide any evidence or go through any legal process. The administration merely has to state that the target is a terrorist and it doesn’t matter whether they are an American citizen or not, as we saw in the case of American-born Anwar al-Awlaki and his son, who were both killed last year.

In December, Obama administration lawyers reaffirmed their backing for state sponsored assassination, claiming that “U.S. citizens are legitimate military targets” and do not have the right to any legal protection against being marked for summary execution.

During a CBS 60 Minutes interview in January, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta revealed that Obama himself personally approves the policy to kill American citizens suspected of terrorism without trial on a case by case basis.

“So it’s the requirement of the administration under the current legal understanding that the president has to make that declaration, not you?” Panetta was asked, to which he replied, “That is correct.”

The administration’s support for state-sponsored assassination without a shred of legal oversight puts into context the worthlessness of an Obama ‘policy directive’ last week that promised the White House would not indefinitely detain American citizens under the National Defense Authorization Act, which Obama signed on New Years Eve.

As we documented at the time, it was the administration itself which demanded the controversial detention without trial provisions of the NDAA be applied to American citizens.

The NDAA defines the entire planet, including America, as a “battlefield,” meaning Americans could also hypothetically be assassinated without any legal process on U.S. soil under the legal framework that has been codified under Obama.

The recent announcement that up to 30,000 drones will be in American skies within ten years, allied to the DHS plan to spend up to $50 million dollars on a spy system that has been used to hunt insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan for the purposes of “emergency and non-emergency incidents” within the United States, makes it clear that Americans are being targeted as terrorists at both home and abroad.

Half a dozen lobbyists are suing the Obama administration claiming they are being denied their free speech rights by not serving on federal advisory committees.

The six lobbyists were either serving on or were seeking to be on the Industry Trade Advisory Committees (ITAC), which are jointly managed by the Department of Commerce and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, when President Barack Obama banned lobbyists from serving in his administration.

In their lawsuit filed in federal court, the plaintiffs claim the rule violates the U.S. Constitution because it infringes on their First Amendment rights.

The six lobbyists are Erik Autor of the National Retail Federation; Nate Herman, who represented the Travel Goods Association on an advisory board; Cass Johnson of the National Council of Textile Organizations; Stephen Lamar of the American Apparel & Footwear Association; Bill Reinsch of the National Foreign Trade Council, and Andrew Zamoyski, who represented the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates on an advisory board.

Defense contractors Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics and Raytheon spent a combined $33.4 million on lobbying in Washington last year, a 10 percent increase from 2010, as Congress and the Obama administration weighed cuts in the Pentagon budget.

A review of lobbying disclosures filed with the Senate by a Jan. 20 deadline showed that Bethesda-based Lockheed Martin, the world’s largest defense company, led such spending last year with $15 million for lobbying, a 19 percent increase.

Pentagon contractors face an era of limited government spending after an impasse on how to cut the federal budget left open the prospect of $1 trillion in defense cuts over a decade. Even with future cuts looming, defense companies focused their lobbying last year on protecting contracts and programs from immediate cuts, according to Michael Herson, president of American Defense International, a defense lobbying and business-development firm in Washington.

“The contractors were focused on their programs in fiscal year 2012 — that was the more certain problem at hand,’’ Herson said in an interview.

Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) has accused the Obama administration of deliberately misleading the public about how much oil gushed from the ruptured BP well in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010.

Using the Freedom of Information Act, PEER obtained an email from a top administration official that revealed that the White House was pressuring top government scientists to low-ball the oil flow rate.

In late May 2010, Dr. Marcia McNutt, director of the U.S. Geologic Survey and head of the government’s Flow Rate Technical Group, wrote to scientists who complained about the misleading information coming out of the White House about the crisis.

“I cannot tell you what a nightmare the past two days have been dealing with the communications people at the White House…,” McNutt wrote. “The press release that went out on our results was misleading and was not reviewed by a scientist for accuracy.”

She went on to give examples: “Let me give you a flavor of some of the ‘suggestions’ I was getting from the NIC [National Intelligence Council] and from the communications people at the White House and DOI [Department of the Interior] as recently as yesterday afternoon as to how to ‘simplify’ our bottom line:

From a NIC Admiral: How about just saying that the range of flow rates is 12,000 to 25,000 barrels per day? (No, because the 25,000 is a LOWER bound, not an UPPER bound….)

From a White House communications person: How about saying that several lines of evidence suggest that the flow is 12,000 to 19,000 barrels per day but that the rate could be as high as 25,000 barrels per day? (No, because the 25,000 is a LOWER bound, not an UPPER bound…).”

President Barack Obama’s top aides publically insisted that at worst, about 25,000 barrels of oil a day were spewing from the well. Later, it was revealed that the rate was more than 50,000 barrels a day.

System throws weight behind former Obama administration official in desperate bid to cheat Paul out of second place in New Hampshire

Paul Joseph Watson
Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Just as they threw their considerable weight behind Rick Santorum last week in a successful bid to prevent Ron Paul from finishing in the top two in Iowa, the establishment media has now turned to former Obama administration official Jon Huntsman in a desperate move to block Paul from winning the “anyone-but-Romney’ crown in New Hampshire.

Although polls show Paul has a comfortable lead over Huntsman going into tonight’s primary, we are seeing a mirror image of last week’s rhetoric in that the media is trumpeting Huntsman as the candidate with the most “momentum” in the final hours before voting.

Forget about the powers that be not wanting Paul to win, they’re petrified of him even finishing a distant second. The establishment is terrified that Ron Paul could take the silver medal because it could provide the Congressman with the momentum he needs to emerge as the primary challenger to Mitt Romney going forward.

That’s why the likes of CBS News have even sunk to the depths of editing out Ron Paul’s second place finish from on-screen poll result graphics as well as on-air discussions.

As Reason’s Brian Doherty writes today, ” That Huntsman might pull ahead of Paul into second today in New Hampshire has been widely said with very little evidence, which certainly feeds into the Paul fan paranoid narrative that the media is desperate for anyone-but-Paul to become the anointed anyone-but-Romney. I am even now watching cable tv pundits, presenting the current 20-13 Paul-Huntsman polling, still talking as if Huntsman beating him is reasonable to expect today.”

Even liberals like Slate’s Dave Weigel are urging disgruntled Democrats to act as Paul spoilers in the GOP race by voting for Huntsman, ludicrously claiming that Huntsman can defeat Obama when the latest poll shows he would be easily beaten by the President, while Paul is almost tied with Obama in a hypothetical run-off, second only to Romney.

The corporate press is obsessed with their self-fulfilling prophecy of claiming Ron Paul has no chance of winning the GOP nomination, but Huntsman has even less chance. He’s not even on the ballot in Virginia or Arizona.

Huntsman is about as conservative as Karl Marx. He’s a vehement climate change believer, a firm ally of Harry Reid, has strongly opposed the Tea Party movement and to top it all off, he’s a former Obama administration official. How this man can be framed as a legitimate alternative to Ron Paul anywhere outside of the Twilight Zone of the establishment media is beyond a joke.

Described as “Barack Obama’s secret weapon” by some conservatives, Huntsman is likely to drop out of the GOP race, run as an Independent and take enough votes away from whoever turns out to be the Republican candidate in order to ensure Obama’s re-election.

If we are to set aside concerns about the same electronic voting machines which disenfranchised Paul in New Hampshire back in 2008, along with missing votes for Paul that were not counted, and presume that the establishment’s rush to promote Huntsman will be sufficient to sway enough genuine voters for Huntsman to take second place, the clincher could very well end up being a “false flag” most likely launched by the Huntsman campaign itself.

An independent analysis of the offensive anti-Huntsman ad which the media rushed to blame on Ron Paul supporters and which Huntsman himself seized upon to exploit the moral high ground concludes that the ad was in all likelihood created by the Huntsman campaign and had nothing to do with Ron Paul or his supporters.

“There was never any reason to believe it,” writes Doherty. “The ad arose from a YouTube account and group name “NHLiberty4Paul” that had never had any public presence before, no Paul fan had ever shown a sign of thinking Huntsman was of interest to them, it was circulated not through any of the many existing channels where Paul fans gather and talk but rather from Huntsman’s own campaign, Huntsman made much anti-Paul hay from it. Although it’s hard to learn who is responsible for things posted on YouTube, there is more reason to think a Huntsman partisan was responsible than that a Paul one was.

Indeed, the independent analysis shows that the first URL referral to the ad came from the Huntsman campaign’s internal email server, before it had been posted on any other website besides that created by its anonymous author.

The polls show that Ron Paul should secure second place in New Hampshire tonight and that’s the result the vast majority of our readers will be rooting for. However, don’t be surprised if a combination of the establishment throwing its weight behind Huntsman, in addition to the dirty tricks on behalf of the Huntsman campaign, added to Diebold electronic voting machines and a history of vote fraud in the state, all combine to disenfranchise Paul once more and give the media the opportunity to ignore and dismiss his campaign yet again.

In Washington’s latest outrage against Americans, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s Department of Justice has just found American’s toughest Sheriff Joe Arpaio guilty of a wide range of civil rights violations against illegal immigrants. If the sheriff’s office doesn’t stop its crackdown on illegal immigration, the federal government is threatening to pull millions of dollars in federal funding – a move that will effectively scrap any police presence or border control in the busiest human- and drug-trafficking corridors along the U.S.-Mexico Border.

Isn’t that convenient.

Right now, we’re calling on you as an American Citizen to defeat the Obama administration at its own game by demanding a citizen’s impeachment of Eric Holder.

Obama intentionally put in charge ineffective, yes-man Eric Holder as U.S. Attorney General in order to pull the Department of Justice into his sick determination to destroy America by destroying law and justice in this country. No longer are we going to sit on our hands waiting to take back America until November 2012. Impeachment is the only way to rid America of the corrupt and conniving U.S. Attorney General. But America desperately needs your help.

Through our investigation, we have discovered a little known rule in the House handbook on how to impeach Eric Holder and every other Obama official abusing his or her power.

According to  the legislative manual of the House of Representative (and a case from 1826 which saw just such a thing happen for a federal judge), U.S. citizen’s have the right and the ability to take back Washington by impeaching failed officials at the highest levels of government.

Taken from the commentary on Thomas Jefferson’s Manual:

“In the House various events have been credited with setting an impeachment in motion: charges made on the floor on the responsibility of a Member or Delegate (II, 1303; III, 2342, 2400, 2469; VI, 525, 526, 528, 535, 536); charges preferred by a memorial, which is usually referred to a committee for examination (III, 2364, 2491, 2494, 2496, 2499, 2515; VI, 543); a resolution introduced by a Member and referred to a committee (Apr. 15, 1970, p. 11941; Oct. 23, 1973, p. 34873); a message from the President (III, 2294, 2319; VI, 498); charges transmitted from the legislature of a State (III, 2469) or territory (III, 2487) or from a grand jury (III, 2488); or facts developed and reported by an investigating committee of the House (III, 2399, 2444).”

So far, 53 members of Congress have called on Holder to resign over the Operation Fast and Furious cover-up by the Department of Justice under Holder’s leadership, but he refuses to listen to the American people and our elected representatives just like his buddy, Barack Hussein Obama.

Once your petition is filed with a member of Congress, the next step is to be brought before the House by a willing representative – according to the 110th Congress House Rules Manual – House Document No. 108-241, petitions, memorials and other papers addressed to the House may be presented by the Speaker as well as by a Member (IV, 3312) AND a Member may present a petition from the people of a State other than his own (IV, 3315, 3316).

And finally, the House must approve the impeachment.

Folks, taking back Washington from Obama’s out-of-control appointees and other cronies in power doesn’t get any easier than that, especially when we’ve got the House majority in our favor…

Republican congressman Jim Sensenbrenner opened up the possibility for a Citizen’s impeachment of Eric Holder just a few days ago in front of Congress, and so far it remains overlooked as a far-shot by the major media news outlets – even by the conservative ones.

We need you to ask Congress to impeach Eric Holder since he is unwilling to resign despite our demands and the demands of our elected officials. Holder is feeling so secure in his position that he even recently scolded members of Congress for ‘inappropriate rhetoric’ during their investigation of the botched gun-running program known as “Operation Fast and Furious.” Then he had the gall to admit that more violent crimes on both sides of the border could result from the Obama Administration’s failed plot to destroy the Second Amendment. And now, with the biased, self-serving investigation of Sheriff Joe – they’ve brought the fight to us.

There is less than one year left before the Presidential Elections – that gives us one year to chip away at the Obama administration’s clutch on Washington that is destroying America. But we don’t have to sit by and watch him do it. Right now, we’re begging you – for the future of our country – demand a citizen’s impeachment of Eric Holder TODAY.

Please, exercise your right as a U.S. Citizen today. Help free America from the grips of the Obama administration, one official at a time. SELECT HERE!

As U.S. Citizens, we HAVE the right and the power to impeach Eric Holder. We MUST exercise that right!

White House removed language that would have protected Americans from Section 1031 of NDAA

Paul Joseph Watson
Monday, December 12, 2011

Despite reports that Obama is planning to veto the National Defense Authorization Act, Senator Carl Levin has revealed it was the administration itself that lobbied to remove language from the bill that would have protected American citizens from being detained indefinitely without trial.

“The language which precluded the application of Section 1031 to American citizens was in the bill that we originally approved…and the administration asked us to remove the language which says that U.S. citizens and lawful residents would not be subject to this section,” said Levin, Chairman of the Armed Services Committee.

“It was the administration that asked us to remove the very language which we had in the bill which passed the committee…we removed it at the request of the administration,” said Levine, emphasizing, “It was the administration which asked us to remove the very language the absence of which is now objected to.”

Section 1031 of the NDAA bill, which itself defines the entirety of the United States as a “battlefield,” allows American citizens to be snatched from the streets, carted off to a foreign detention camp and held indefinitely without trial. The bill states that “any person who has committed a belligerent act” faces indefinite detention, but no trial or evidence has to be presented, the White House merely needs to make the accusation.

An amendment introduced by Democratic Senator Feinstein, described as “cleverly worded nonsense” by Congressman Justin Amash, does not protect Americans from being subject to the provision.

“The Feinstein Amendment 1031(e) is dangerously misleading,” writes John Wood of, which is running a petition to oppose the signing of the bill. “Don’t be fooled: In the text of 1031(e), “Nothing in this section shall be construed…”, the only word that matters is “construed” because the Supreme Court are the only ones with the power to construe the law. The Feinstein Amendment 1031(e) permits citizens to be imprisoned without evidence or a trial forever, if the Supreme Court does not EXPLICITLY repeal 1031.”

The Obama administration never had a problem with Section 1031 of the bill and indeed acted to ensure it applied to American citizens. Doubts over whether or not Obama would veto the bill only arose out of issues with Section 1032, which pertains to the military being required to take custody of individuals.

“Confusingly, Obama threatened a veto for 1032, but NOT 1031. 1032 is UNRELATED to imprisoning citizens without a trial. Obama has never suggested using a veto to stop Section 1031 citizen imprisonment,” writes Wood.

The notion that the administration lobbied for language that would have protected American citizens and legal residents from indefinite detention to be removed from the bill is unsurprising given Obama’s policy with regard to predator drone strikes.

The White House has asserted the right to carry out state-sponsored assassination anywhere in the world without having to provide any evidence or go through any legal process. The administration merely has to state that the target is a terrorist and it doesn’t matter whether they are an American citizen or not, as we saw in the case of American-born Anwar al-Awlaki and his son who were both killed earlier this year.

Indeed, at the start of the month, Obama administration lawyers reaffirmed their backing for state sponsored assassination.

Congress has until tomorrow to block the law before it heads to President Obama’s desk. Putting faith in an administration that has formalized state-sponsored assassination of U.S. citizens without trial to block the ‘indefinite detention’ provision of the NDAA bill is naive to say the least.

The Obama administration has launched a major propaganda offensive in the war on terror. On Thursday, they unveiled details of a new strategy to battle homegrown terrorism by fostering coordination between local authorities and teaching officials to better recognize violent extremism, according to ABC News.

Obama claims to have killed a number of top al-Qaeda operatives, but has provided no evidence.

“Protecting our nation’s communities from violent extremist recruitment and radicalization is a top national security priority. It is an effort that requires creativity, diligence and commitment to our fundamental rights and principles,” reads a report entitled, “Strategic Implementation Plan for Empowering Local Partners to Prevent Violent Extremism in the United States.”

The report equates domestic terrorism with crime. “Just as we engage and raise awareness to prevent gang violence, sexual offenses, school shootings and other acts of violence, so too must we ensure that our communities are empowered to recognize threats of violent extremism and understand the range of government and nongovernment resources that can help keep their families, friends and neighbors safe,” the report said.

“What we have to do is be prepared for these different types of approaches that al Qaeda is pursuing,” Obama’s chief counterterrorism adviser, John Brennan, told NPR. “The large attacks, the small attacks, the groups that are operating together and the individuals who may be vulnerable to these types of entreaties.”

Obama claims that during his tenure 22 of the top 30 al-Qaeda operatives have been killed. The administration has claimed bragging rights over the alleged assassination of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan despite the fact the government has yet to provide conclusive evidence of this. Additionally, there is also no evidence the U.S. killed Pentagon dinner guest Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen.

The Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee is also engaged in creating a fanciful mythology for public consumption in the war on terror, designed to last generations. It says there have been 33 plots involving homegrown terrorists uncovered since 2009.

With three exceptions, all of the high-profile domestic terror plots of the last decade were FBI frame-ups, according to a recent report by Mother Jones. The government is making its dubious claim based on the fact that terrorism-related charges are so difficult to beat in court, even without evidence, that defendants often don’t risk a trial.
